BC Wildlife Federation Partners with BOATERexam.com®
BC local news
British Columbia. With the September 15 deadline now passed for all recreational boaters to acquire their Pleasure Craft Operator Card, a new partnership between BC Wildlife Federation and BOATERexam.com® couldn’t come at a better time for anyone who still hasn’t obtained their card.
Simply by visiting BCWF’s website and clicking through on the link to BOATERexam.com®, any recreational boater of any age in B.C. can not only get their boating license quickly and easily through a credible online program, but can also show their support for the BC Wildlife Federation as they do so.
For every boater who goes through the BCWF website and signs up for certification with BOATERexam.com®, BCWF will receive a $15 referral fee.
Patti MacAhonic, Executive Director of BC Wildlife Federation, says she is delighted with the partnership as another value-added service for BCWF’s membership.
“A large part of our mandate is to ensure safe outdoor recreational practices, whether our members are hunting, fishing, hiking, or boating anywhere in the province. Our partnership with BOATERexam.com® is one more benefit we can offer to our membership while creating a new revenue stream to support our work,” stated MacAhonic.
BOATERexam.com® considers it a winning partnership as well.
“I am very excited about this partnership between BOATERexam.com® and BC Wildlife Federation; it will provide great cross-promotional opportunities for both of our organizations.” says Brent McNamee of BOATERexam.com®. “BCWF has a great membership base and access to boaters in BC, and they can really help us to educate and certify boaters, and to make BC’s waters safer.”
Recreational boating is a favorite pastime in Canada with between seven and nine million people enjoying Canadian waterways each year.
Sadly, not every boating excursion is a return trip: Over 200 boating fatalities occur each year along with an estimated 6,000 non-fatal accidents - most of them preventable.
The general public and pleasure boaters expressed concern that anyone of any age could operate a watercraft without having any prior boating experience.
The Pleasure Craft Operator Card regulations are intended to reduce the number of boating related accidents and fatalities.
Anyone seeking to register online for their certification can do so at www.bcwf.bc.ca and clicking on the BOATERexam.com® link provided on BC Wildlife Federation’s home page.
